Ebony Scrooge is an adaptation of the classic holiday tale "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. If you're looking for something reflective yet uplifting this holiday season, this modernization of the classic is sure to fit the bill. The production will be held at the Harold Washington Cultural Center in Chicago, IL. with the first part of the evening featuring performances from the Harold Washington Cultural Center Partners, followed by a brief intermission. The second half of the show will encompass Ebony Scrooge, the parody written by D.M. Larson. Ebony embodies the same characteristics as Ebenezer, her problems might be different but the outcome is the same. Her contempt for those around her ultimately leads down the road to redemption. After visits from the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future her tough love leads to a change of heart that will change her life and the lives of all those around her.
