Give Cancer the Finger! was born out of frustration for Stacy Cumberbatch. Frustration that a disease so far reaching still remains without a cure and claiming so many lives. Frustration in seeing my aunt, cousin, and friends have to battle this disease, and in some cases, lose. Frustration that makes you want to yell and scream and curse because it just makes no damn sense.
She just had to do something to help, anything. So in August 2011 a friend and she held their first Give Cancer The Finger themed photo shoot in NYC. About 30 of our friends and friends of friends came out and gave the finger for the cause on camera to raise awareness. Combined with a couple of events they threw, they were able to raise funds to make a donation to Pink Jams!, a nonprofit that promotes cancer awareness to young adults.
Still she felt that more can be done, and decided to continue. With a goal of rallying others who are fed up, want to speak out and do something, our goal will be to give cancer the finger for a good cause. Their goal is to sell tees and host a series of photo shoots and events where proceeds will go to local cancer support groups and non profits. We give cancer the finger for a good cause!
